Making Sense of it all.

Sat on the hour long bus journey going into uni, I find myself reflecting on last nights panicked scribbles trying to make sense of what I was planning out in the form of bullet points and franctically wiriting down after talking to my mum about my workload and what I need to do.
I think given the time I have left, I need to find a balance between producing the correct amount of work for assessment, producing work that I actually like and am interested in, and not just choosing the easiest path to ensure and effective and successful outcome.

So what do all the scribbles mean?
HEADSPACE
I think I am interested in exploring this after I realised the final destination of my previous project, and where I ended up in terms of context and exploration of my ‘final outcomes’. I started looking at why I was interested in the repetition of pattern and of the objects, and I discovered that a context I had subconsciously added to the work was looking at mental health and disorders such as OCD, or disorders that make your head want everything to appear visually perfect. This lead me to not necessarily launch into researching mental health, but instead to think about the space inside the head. Mental health disorders are unique in the sense that they can’t be physically detected, and therefore are completely internal as it is all in a persons head. While I myself don’t suffer from a mental disorder, due to my busy lifestyle I always have a lot going on inside my brain, and often let it everything going on combine itself together. This is also because I let really little things affect my in a much bigger sense, and overthink these small things far too much making them appear bigger problems than they actually are. Therefore linking this to my artwork, I want to explore how I can project these thoughts and idea of the space inside my head externally, through video and audio mediums to represent my thoughts on an everyday basis.
However, alongside this I don't want to forget my original idea (which i think will end up being my final project) of the polaroids suspended in a space with the sound pieces playing. I think steps forwards now need to be gathering together everything I have learnt from the sound test pieces, and finalising a sound scape to be played in the space with the polaroids. Also, perhaps experiment with the piano piece I composed with the audio clips of voicemails and things to see how effective it will be alongside the visuals I plan to film.
