Post Easter Catch Up

After a 2 week Easter break consisting of mixed productivity levels, I thought it was imperative to write a blog post reflecting on the past term's happenings and plans for moving into the final 2 weeks of the course. I am aware that time planning is crucial in the next few weeks to ensure that I am not only achieving as much as I can, but have an outline of the work I want to do so that time doesn't run away with me.

I am currently aware of the fact that my research levels need to be increased, both in terms of artists that relate to my studies, and more conceptual research into issues and context surrounding my final piece (relating to identity and "headspace"). I currently have a lot of ideas of things I want to achieve in the next few weeks, and I think the most effective way to record these is in my sketchbook. I have mapped out a few of them in the form of bullet point lists on several blog posts, however as I have discovered previously not only in art but in several other aspects of my education and further studies, I am an extremely visual learner so need to have the ideas physically on a piece of paper in order to fully grasp their magnitude.

I think the first steps are definitely to read back through the most recent blog posts, update my time plan, and create a few pages in my sketchbook dedicated to final piece ideas, combined with methods of taking the idea further into a real life cont

ext which I am very aware is an important part of the end-user-context assessment criteria.

It is also going to be vital to make a ticklist of all the things I have to achieve in terms of physical written 'paperwork' as there are a few documents I have been aware of throughout the process, including my final critical essay, that are impeding on my actual artwork, because I am so concerned about having so much to do that I feel like I am falling under the non creative aspects of the final hand-in. The best way to combat this, as I have said, is definitely to create a checklist and take one thing at a time. I also think it would not be a bad idea to stay in the library late a few nights this week, in order for me to do the photocopying of books that I wanted to do, and perhaps file all of these in a book to hand in, aiding my artist research.
