End User Context

Despite using jigsaw pieces to create my final piece, I did not want to be swayed by their pre-existing function when considering the end user context for my final outcome. I instead wanted to use them as a creative output that challenged the pre-conceived ideas of the medium, whilst portraying the idea of individual pieces that together make up a whole.
The actual shape of the puzzle piece itself has become more of a logo in my work. This could be translated onto various artistic standings such as high end fashion wear in a minimalistic manner, using simplistic stitch detail which is hugely popular at the moment. However, even staying within the context of a gallery, the jigsaw concept has the potential to expand out into a broader setting onto a larger scale. The pieces could be suspended individually from the ceiling at differing heights, (ensuring they are double sided) allowing them to rotate freely throughout a large open gallery space. This is also transferable to an outside setting with the pieces being displayed on a mobile, or installed as standing sculptures and enlarged so that each piece is large enough for people to sit and stand on.
